About the event
Special guest Wesley G. Phelps, Ph. D, UNT Associate Professor of History, discussed his upcoming book, “Before Lawrence v. Texas: The Making of a Queer Social Movement,” as well as its companion podcast, “Queering the Lone Star State.” We also explored three pivotal Texas legal battles instrumental in the advancement of LBGTQ rights nationally, along with a smaller Cowtown case that helped lay some early groundwork.
